Not as much as ravens do though.

day 13: may 26, 2009

this is from monday.
monday was a very good day and i decided that i should use
a pretty little picture of apple blossoms and my grandpa's
airplane.  (i don't like cemeteries and i don't really like
headstones — they always make me super sad. but i
like my grandpa's because i like his plane. and i love him.)

i am loving this shot.
i wasn't planning on a photo shoot.
so this shot just sorta happened.
love little surprises like that.enjoy.

Okay, how lame is this...
my camera goes MIA again,
then, finally when I actually get it back and some photos on it
I can't find my connector cable.
Murphy's Law.
I promise, dear blog followers:

day 10: may 22, 2009

alright. no image from me yesterday.
but it was one ca-razy day.

yes, yes. another image from the pet project.
(but it's what i have to be doing right now. so that's what i'm doing right now... that sort of thing. and i think that the light in this photo pretty much rocks. so that makes the dumb pet project sort of ok? ok.)

day 10: may 21, 2009

this is an oldie, but a goodie.
because harry potter really is cool...
{this is my most recent discovery. "wow" is all i have to say.}
...and because i've been there.

day 9: may 20, 2009

this evening i did some family portraits.
a rockin mom, a funny dad, and the most darling little girl.

here is a not-so-traditional shot of a sweet little one.
but i loved the light and her cute cute cute pig-tails.
(i think it's pretty special.)

( geri e. )

...today i remembered why i love home so much.
and i really, really missed it.
here's to home,
and to walking around barefoot in the garden,
and to sleeping on the trampoline,
and to cooking with mom in the kitchen,
and working in the fields for dad,
and to riding horses with the little girls {who really aren't that little}
just because they love it so much.
here's to a safe place to go when you can't rely on anything else.
after all,
home is where they love you.

day 8: may 19, 2009

exit signs on fences in the wide open almost always equals visual interest. at least in my book.

i maybe am a fan of the random. as well as the rundown.

( geri e. )

first of all... in case you are all wondering where kristen has gone, we are too! haha
but don't worry...she's getting ready to come back with a BANG! i just know it.

ok, now to my photo for the day.
it's all about birthdays around here.
and since i love cupcakes and vintage, i decided to try to make this classic shot {taken tonight, mind you.} look a little baby-pink-vintage. you like?
i heart cupcakes.
and birthdays.
big time.

plain jayne {that's me...alex}

Okay! I'm back! Sorry crew, my camera was MIA this weekend. In other words, my little brother happened to "walk off" with it. I am really wanting to get back into a project I started last semester doing environmental portraits, so I thought about it thoroughly tonight, we'll see what kind of shots I can get here in Canada. Today, however, I want to introduce you to my friend, Floyd.

day 7: may 18, 2009

i don't think i have anything to say about this little photo.
except that it makes me feel refreshed.
(but then i remember that i smell skunk outside my
window and i don't feel so refreshed anymore.)

( geri e. )

“you’re either really artistic, or you’re obsessed with bondage.”
at least that’s what i was told when i took this shot.
{that made me laugh.}
enjoy.

day 4: may 14, 2009

My brother is a pretty creative kid. He has taken some sculpture classes at art school, and he's come up with some great material. We have 4 or 5 of his sculptures in our front yard, this is a close up of the bee/winged something.
Loves, K.

i do love the blossoms at temple square.

day 3: may 13, 2009

i had to take a drive to the big town today (i.e. IF)
i also took my little pet (for my graphic design class, i named him red dirty. i read this story and then the name stuck.)
we're supposed to take these random objects (which were assigned. mine is a neon red-orange plastic sheep. it sort of struggles to stand. a bit broken you might say.) and get 10 pics a week.
the final-finished project is a mystery. hopefully it's neat-o.
:: geri e.

today i took some shots at temple square.
beautiful day for shooting.
here is one of my faves: the doorknobs of the temple.
they are beautiful.
enjoy.

I took my cousin Aaron to the zoo in Calgary. This was one of the nicest days we've had this spring. It's been raining a lot on us, at least it's not snow....
Also, I'm kind of obsessed with giraffes. So this just makes me happy.

day 2: may 12, 2009

Welcome to day number two of our escapade!
It looks like I am the first one to log on and post, so I think I will just describe the photo. I took this on a recent trip to Waterton National Park. It's the sister park to Glacier in the States. This is Cameron Falls, and is famous for engagement photos. I personally think it's overused, why place people in front of it? Again, the lighting wasn't in my favour, but it's one of my favourite spots, so I needed to post it.

so i'm geri and i get to join this little summer-photo-project-club and i'm pretty excited about it!
this dandy little photo has a bit of a story behind it.
not sure if i should share all the details here. so if you'd like the story you can take a step over to this blog if you'd like to read on.
if not here is a cute little photo of a window w/ pink trim.
(hint to the rest of the story: the window happens to be somebody's bedroom window. and i maybe have to associate with that somebody and they told me it was their bedroom window. and it might have been pretty awkward.)

hello! so happy to be here.
and so happy geri is here! she is my sweet cousin and is amazing behind that nikon of hers. just wait, you'll see...
my photo of the day is a black&white of the exhaust pipe on my brother's pre-mission pickup. {brown. chevy. duramax. brand spankin' new.} he has great taste in trucks, but he is out of town for the next two years serving an lds mission, so he sold it to my dad. and just recently my parents traded it in. in honor of him {and his high school glory days}, i had to do one last photo shoot of the truck. this is one of my fave's from the day.
enjoy!

introductions...and post of the day: may 11, 2009

hello everyone.
welcome to our blog.
kristen and i are still getting things figured out {and we are very excited to be doing this!} but what we are hoping is that we will each post one photo everyday, to kind of showcase where we've been this summer. it should be fun to compare both photos and see what we can come up with.

i am going to start the blog out with this photo i took over the weekend. i love this shot! this is my sister hailey barrel racing in the rodeo. she's a really great cowgirl and is doing well in both barrels and poles. good job hailey! keep it up!

Hello world!
I decided I was going to be lame and post a picture I took a week and a half ago at my older bro's wedding. I was so excited to welcome Mary Anne into my family, she was radiant. And I guess Nelson didn't look half bad either...considering the lighting was less than desirable, too bright. Alex and I are so excited to share our summer experiences with each other and YOU, our readers/viewers.
XOxo - kristen
